If using these outdoors in the cold, anything hitting your hands, or your hands hitting anything else would hurt. They are easy to use, and you can set each individual color to flash on its own, which is neat. They fit fine as well.Just be aware that the batteries get used up quickly and are expensive to replace.I was a little worried that they might not work or would look cheap. But these were awesome. We had an adult white elephant and only two kids coming. I needed something to entertain 2 kids for a while. This did the trick and were a hit with the adults too. Everybody asked me where I got them. Great gift. Worked. I ordered them for my daughter for Xmas to wear under a pair of knit mitts she asked for as I knew the mitts would not be warm enough to wear alone. I played with them when they arrived and put them on with the knit mitts over top and the glow under the knit mitts look oh soooo cool! She is going to LOVE THEM ! :)
